A Poll and a Tease

So, should I audition for this or not? The director called me last night and wants me to play either The King or The Duke. Callbacks are tomorrow, so leave your opinion in the comments. Thanks!

P.S. I did serve on a Jury this week and am going to write it up this weekend. I'll post all the details (with names changed to protect the innocent) next week.

UPDATE: Just got an e-mail asking if I'd be interested in auditioning for this. Any thoughts?

UPDATE 2: Thanks for your input, but I've decided not to audition for anything at this time. I spent one whole day last week putting our team calendar together, and March is going to be very busy. I'll still support the Great American Musical, just not onstage!

The real answer to (7) "Can I sing a cappella?" is,

"I don't know, can you?"

followed by,

"No, this is not American Idol."

Yes, audition, if only to play a small part in the maintenance of the tradition of American Musical Theatre.

Go for it. You could be a swindling bad guy, and uphold that whole American Musical Theater thing, *and* watch firsthand as Chris shoehorns that show in the community center performing space. "Big River - Little Theater!"

Sing!

Well, she wants me too, so if we both audition we could do another show together, which would be nifty. On the other hand, Sunday matinees in the "glassed in theater" are a problem.

"Tommy Under Glass"

tempting, very tempting...

Ah well! Big River is a great show and either would have been a great part. The two close act 1 and open act 2.

But I know how it is to set priorities and be overwhelmed.
